A strong wind warning is current between Torres Strait and Port Douglas. 

Synoptic Situation
A large high will move east into the Great Australian Bight today, strengthening
a ridge over the north Queensland coast.

Peninsula Waters, Torres Strait to Cooktown:
A strong wind warning is current.
Sunday until midnight:  Wind: SE 20/30 knots. Sea: to 3 metres outside the reef,
2 metres inside the reef. Swell: SE 2 metres outside the reef. Isolated showers.
Monday:  Wind: SE 25/30 knots. Sea: to 3 metres outside the reef, 2 metres
inside the reef. Swell: SE 2 metres outside the reef. Isolated showers. 
Tuesday:  Wind: SE 25/30 knots.

North Tropical Waters, Cooktown to Cardwell:
A strong wind warning is current for waters north of Port Douglas.
Sunday until midnight:  Wind: SE 20/25 knots north of Cairns, increasing to
25/30 knots north of Port Douglas during the morning. S/SE 15/20 knots south of
Cairns. Lighter winds inshore early in the morning. Sea: 2 to 3 metres outside
the reef and 1.5 to 2 metres inside the reef. Swell: SE 1.5 to 2 metres outside
the reef. Isolated showers.
Monday:  Wind: SE 20/25 knots north of Cairns, reaching 25/30 knots north of
Port Douglas. S/SE 15/20 knots south of Cairns with lighter S/SE winds inshore
early in the morning. Sea: 2 to 3 metres outside the reef and 1.5 to 2 metres
inside the reef. Swell: SE 1.5 to 2 metres outside the reef. Isolated showers.
Tuesday:  Wind: S/SE 20/30 knots, easing to 15/20 knots south of about Cairns in
the afternoon.

Tropical Waters, Cardwell to Bowen:
Sunday until midnight:  Wind: E/SE 10/15 knots, tending NE inshore in the
afternoon. SE winds increasing to 15/20 knots offshore at night. Lighter S'ly
winds inshore early in the morning. Sea: 1.2 metres, increasing to 1.7 metres
offshore at night. Isolated showers.
Monday:  Wind: S/SE 15/20 knots, reaching 20/25 knots at times offshore. Winds
tending E/NE 10/15 knots inshore in the afternoon. Sea: 1.7 to 2.2 metres in
open waters. Isolated showers.  
Tuesday:  Wind: S/SE 15/20 knots, reaching 20/30 knots offshore in the morning.
Winds tending E/NE 10/15 knots inshore in the afternoon.

Central Coast Waters, Bowen to St Lawrence:
Sunday until midnight:  Wind: SW/SE 10/15 knots, tending NE inshore in the
afternoon. Sea: 1.2 metres. Isolated late showers. 
Monday:  Wind: S/SE 20/25 knots, easing to 15/20 knots in the afternoon. Sea:
2.2 metres, decreasing to 1.7 metres in the afternoon. Isolated morning showers.
Tuesday:  Wind: S/SE 20/30 knots, easing to 15/20 knots in the afternoon.
